Incomprensión

Londres es una ciudad de contrastes. A pié de pista, la sensación de estar en una ciudad plural, cosmopolita, multicultural, donde todo aquél que se pasea por sus calles se siente como en casa, se mezcla al mismo tiempo con otra sensación bien distinta: la incomprensión. Por eso, todos esos adjetivos que se utilizan para describir lo que significa vivir en esta ciudad, en muchos de los casos, sólo sirven para dar rodeos.

Si sales a la calle está claro que verás de todo, de todas las formas imaginables y sobre todo, de todos los colores posibles, pero lo que parece no estar muy bien entendido por los amigos de lo plural, estos de mente cosmopolita y alma multicultural es que no hace falta venirte hasta aquí para entender que este mundo no sólo se explica por lo que se ve, sino por cómo se comprende.

¿Acaso hay algo más plural en éste nuestro mundo que intentar ver la misma realidad desde diferentes puntos de vista? Quizá no. Una cosa está clara: lo fácil es verla, lo difícil, entenderla, tal y como es.

London is a city full of contrasts. Walking by the street you have the image of a plural, cosmopolitan and multicultural city where everyone that goes around feels like at home. At the same time, this feeling is mixed with another one: the incomprehension. So that, all the adjectives that usually come together to describe what ´s the meaning of living in this city, most of the times, they only work to beat the bush.


If you go out here in the street, it´s true that probably you´ll find all kind of different things, in all the shapes and colours, but the fact that is misunderstood by all the friends of the plural, the ones with cosmopolitan mind and multicultural soul, is that there´s no need to come here to undestand that the world cannot be explained only by the things that we see, but by the way we understand them.

Is there anything more plural in this world than trying to look at the same reality from different perspectives? Perhaps not. One thing it´s out of doubt: the easiest task is look at it, the hardest, understand it, just like it is.
